Amy and Bills Engagement Photos at Lake Pleasant.

Located thirty miles north of central Phoenix, Lake Pleasant is a great place to go boating or take engagement photos. The Saguaro Cactus in this area are enormous, and make gorgeous props for photographs. The lake offers many different scenes, from mountain sunsets to desert vistas to beaches. Tempe Market Place: A Great New Photo Location

Tempe Market Place on the 202 and McClintock Drive in Tempe is the hot spot for shopping in the East Valley, right now easily out shining the other malls that are nearby. One of the reasons is that great care was taken the lighting, water features, and the atmosphere, to create a great place to hang out. Foster Puppies Ready For Adoption

These two puppies were so nice that I want to adopt the brown one on the bottom.

This puppy was so well behaved and looks like a teddy bear come to life.

This puppy has an extra nail or two, and the freckles make him so cute that no matter what he just chewed up, it would be easy to forgive him.

Shadow approves of both dogs and urges someone to step up and make a great friend for life.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio Gets the Job Done…

The northeast corner of 48th Street and Van Buren got a much needed make-over Friday morning by Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s chain gang.

The lot that has one house on it has been collecting garbage for over the year that I have lived in the neighborhood.

These guys are riding around in style, tinted windows, air conditioning, and their own dressing room.

I have often wondered why this corner was allowed to become so blighted. These large trees provide convienent areas for assorted homeless to sleep and drink. There is so much trash, food and other unmentionable things along the sidewalk that I try to avoid this corner on my day dog walking duties. Mainly because my Black Lab Shadow will eat anything.

This group cleans up by the 48th Street and Van Buren bus stop, easily the worst bus stop in all of Phoenix. Featuring nothing more than a sign and a giant pot hole, and a million or two cigarette butts. The lead guy takes the opportunity to strike his best Paul Newman pose, from “Cool Hand Luke”.

We made eye contact, and he raised his rake like he was going to rush the guard.

I love it when people clown for the camera, especially when its spontaneous. On this photo the caption could read “Chain Gang Jumps Guard and Makes a Run For It.” . But in actuality everything was under control and a blighted section of my neighborhood got cleaned up. Thanks to Sheriff Joe and the members of the Chain Gang Team. Now if we can get them to do something about the cemetery on 47th Place and Van Buren, easily one of the most blighted places in Phoenix.

Yelp Elite Party: Sol Y Sombra, Scottsdale AZ.

Sheila uses the Google map application on her new iphone to watch herself wait for the elevator at Sol Y Sombra.

The Spanish Kitchen and Lounge is located on 20707 N. Scottsdale Road in Scottsdale in the Market Street at D.C. Ranch Plaza and is way cooler in person than on Sheila’s iphone.

The Yelp Elite Party was co-hosted by Peroni, which graciously provided more than enough cold beer for everybody.

And handed out really cool gift bags on the way out!

The Pollo Colonial with sweet and spicy glaze might be the best chicken I have ever had! So creamy and smooth the boneless chicken pieces melted in your mouth. I personally took care of two plates of chicken and it will be the reason that we drive back to north Scottsdale for dinner real soon.

Patatas bravas was another one of my favorite items from a menu that also featured chilled salad of asparagus with romesco sauce, baby back ribs with quince jam, sherry vinegar and pimenton, and soft lettuces with manchego, almonds and rioja dressing.

So much food, must keep eating…

When Tiffany takes down the Yelp sign, its time to go home.
